- 16 ounces cremini mushrooms or white mushrooms, sliced
- 1 yellow onion sliced thin
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme plus more for garnish
- 2 teaspoons granulated garlic
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon fresh ground pepper
- 1 cup parmesan cheese grated
Add olive oil and onions to a large skillet and place over medium-high heat.
Cook, stirring occasionally until onions are softened, about 10 minutes.
Add sliced mushrooms and continue to cook until mushrooms start to brown and liquid has evaporated.
Season with thyme, garlic, salt and pepper, stirring to combine. Continue to cook another 5 minutes.
Top with grated parmesan and turn off the heat.
Serve when cheese has melted and garnish with additional thyme if desired.
- Use a mix of mushrooms if preferred.
- Swap fresh thyme for rosemary or parsley.
- For extra richness use butter in place of olive oil.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
- Reheat in a skillet over medium heat, stirring until heated through.
