- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 2 cups tomato sauce or marinara sauce
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon Italian Seasonings
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon granulated garlic
- 25 oz frozen or refrigerated ravioli
- fresh basil for garnish - optional
Brown ground beef in a skillet, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain any excess grease.
Add tomato sauce, milk, Italian seasonings, salt, sugar and garlic, stirring to combine.
Add ravioli and stir until well coated.
Bring mixture to a boil, cover and cook 10 minutes. Stir occasionally.
When ravioli is heated through, remove from heat and serve with fresh basil if desired.
- Pasta: This sauce will work with any pasta but it is especially good with homemade ravioli, or tortellini.
- Meat: Italian sausage can be substituted for the ground beef if desired.
- Spicy Sauce: Add red pepper flakes for a spicy pasta sauce.
- Toppings: Top the finished ravioli with fresh grated fresh Parmesan cheese or mozzarella cheese. Fresh herbs like basil or parsley can be sprinkled over the top of the simple sauce.
- Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator 2-3 days or freeze up to 3 months.
- Reheat: Cook leftover ravioli in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring until heated through.
