- 1 tablespoon real maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon spicy brown mustard or dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon granulated garlic
- 12 ounces salmon fillet
- ¼ cup sliced almonds toasted, optional for garnish
- 1 tablespoon fresh herbs dill, basil or parsley, optional for garnish
Prepare a grill fire to 300°.
In a small bowl, mix together maple syrup, mustard and garlic. Set aside.
Remove salmon from packaging and pat dry with a paper towel. Place on a rimmed baking sheet.
Place salmon, skin side down onto the grill and brush with maple mustard. Close the grill, cooking about 10 minutes.
Brush salmon with remaining mustard mixture and continue to cook until salmon reaches 145° using a digital meat thermometer. Remove to a serving tray.
Garnish salmon with toasted sliced almonds and herbs if desired.
Flake salmon apart with 2 forks to serve in salmon bowls or slice into thirds for serving.
- Oven Directions: Place salmon on a parchment lined baking sheet. Brush with maple mustard and bake in a preheated 400° oven. Cook for 10 minutes, brush with maple mustard and continue to cook another 5 – 8 minutes or until salmon reaches 145° using a digital meat thermometer.
- Storage: Store leftover salmon in an airtight container in the refrigerator 1-2 days.
- Reheat: Reheat salmon in a skillet, lightly coated with olive oil over medium heat, stirring until heated through.
