Ingredients

  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 tablespoon granulated garlic
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 burger buns
  • 2 cups lettuce for serving
  • 2 tomatoes sliced thin
  • ½ red onion sliced thin
  • mayo, mustard, ketchup for serving

Instructions

  • Form ground beef into evenly sized patties and set aside.
  • In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, shredded cheddar, granulated garlic, salt and pepper until smooth.
  • Stir in the sliced jalapeños and mix well.
  • Heat the Blackstone griddle to medium-high heat and oil lightly if needed.
  • Sear the burger patties for 1–2 minutes on the first side.
  • Flip the patties and spread a generous layer of the cream cheese mixture over the top.
  • Cook for 2 minutes, then carefully flip the patties again so the cheese side is down. Cook for another 2 minutes.
  • Flip once more and continue to cook until burgers reach 165° using a digital meat thermometer.
  • Remove from the griddle and let rest for a couple of minutes.
  • Serve on buns with your favorite toppings like lettuce, tomato, red onion, mayo, mustard or ketchup.

Notes

  • Variations: Swap the jalapeños for candied jalapenos or pickled jalapeños for extra tang. Add crumbled bacon to the cheese mixture for a smoky twist.
  • Stovetop Directions: If you don’t have a griddle, cook these in a cast iron skillet on the stovetop following the same flipping method. Use medium heat and make sure your skillet is hot before searing.
