Easy Sloppy Joes
French Onion Sloppy Joes are an easy weeknight dinner made with ground beef, onion soup mix, and simple pantry staples. A family favorite served on buns.

- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 onion diced
- 1 cup bell pepper diced
- ¼ cup all purpose flour
- 2 packets Lipton Onion Soup Mix
- 1 ½ cups water
- 2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
- 6 sandwich buns
Cook ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat, crumbling as it cooks until browned.
Add onion and bell peppers and continue to cook until vegetables are softened. Add a tablespoon of olive oil if ground beef is extra lean.
Sprinkle flour over ground beef mixture and stir to combine, cooking 1-2 minutes.
Add the onion soup mix packets, water and worcestershire sauce.
Stir and continue to cook until mixture is thickened. Lower to simmer for 5 minutes.
Spoon sloppy joes mixture over buns and serve immediately.
Store leftover sloppy joes mixture in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
Reheat in a skillet over medium heat, add 1- 2 tablespoons of water, stirring until heated through.
