Butter a rimmed cookie sheet with 1 tablespoon of butter or spray with nonstick spray.
Add 4 tablespoons of butter to a large pan and place over medium heat.
When the butter is melted add the marshmallows.
Stir often until marshmallows are melted.
Add half of the Rice Krispies, mixing until combined. Add the remaining cereal, mixing until marshmallow mixture completely coats the cereal.
Pour into the buttered pan. Press into an even layer using buttered hands or slightly damp hands.
Set aside to cool.
Use a Christmas Tree cookie cutter to shape the treats and place on a clean baking sheet.
Melt candy melts in a pan over low heat or in the microwave until smooth.
Dip Christmas tree treats into the candy melts, using an off set spatula or spoon to even out the candy if needed.
Place candy side up on the baking sheet. Top with sprinkles and allow candy to set up.
