Blackberry Crumble

Ingredients

  • 36 ounces blackberries fresh or frozen (washed)
  • 2 tablespoons orange juice
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch

For the Crumb Topping

  • 1 ½ cups all purpose flour
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • ¾ cup butter room temperature
  • 2 cups Sweetened Whipped Cream optional for serving

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°.
  • Place blackberries into an 11 x 7 inch baking dish with orange juice, granulated sugar, corn starch and cinnamon. Stir to combine.
  • In mixing bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, salt and butter using your finger tips or a large tined fork until crumbly.
  • Sprinkle crumble over the blackberries in an even layer.
  • Bake for 45-50 minutes or until crumble is golden brown.
  • Remove from oven and cool 15 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Storage: Store at room temperature covered in plastic wrap 1-2 days or refrigerate up to 4 days.
  • Variations: Any type of berries will work with this recipe or substitute your favorite pie filling.
