Meatball Poppers
Everyone will love these Meatball Poppers! Homemade pizza dough wrapped around delicious meatballs and dipped in your favorite pizza sauce.
We love to host appetizer parties and these meatball appetizers are a great addition. They are so hearty and delicious that you can serve them with a green salad and call it dinner!
Ingredients Needed for Meatball Poppers
- Ground Beef
- Onions
- Bell Peppers
- Eggs
- Granulated Garlic
- Kosher Salt
- Black Pepper
- Pizza Dough: Homemade pizza dough or store bought
- Butter
- Fresh Garlic
- Fresh Parsley
- Pizza Sauce
How to Make Meatball Poppers Recipe
- In a large mixing bowl, combine diced onions and bell peppers with ground beef, eggs and seasonings.
- Use a 1 1/2 tablespoon cookie scoop to make meatballs and place on a baking sheet with space in between.
- Bake or grill meatballs until they reach 160° using a digital meat thermometer. Remove from grill or oven and cool slightly.
- Divide pizza dough in half, then each half into quarters and each quarter into 4 pieces to make 32 pieces.
- Roll each dough piece into a ball and flatten on a floured surface.
- Add a meatball to each dough round and pinch the edges to form a ball.
- Place into a buttered skillet or large baking pan.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from oven.
- Melt butter in a small skillet and add garlic cloves, cook over low heat 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat and add in chopped parsley.
- Brush garlic butter over meatball poppers.
- Serve with pizza sauce.
Recipe Notes
- Storage: Store leftover meatball poppers in an airtight container in the refrigerator 3-4 days.
- Reheat: Cook meatball poppers on a baking sheet in a 350° oven for 12- 15 minutes or until heated through.
