I love making biscotti! It is a delicious cookie to have on hand for a quick grab and go treat. I often enjoy it with my morning coffee. Biscotti is the best cookie for dunking in coffee, hot chocolate or milk!

Biscotti is my favorite cookie to bake and share for the holidays. They are a sturdy cookie that holds up well to packaging and even shipping across the country. I also love that biscotti stays fresh for a few weeks.
Best Mix-ins for Biscotti:
Biscotti is a simple cookie dough that is perfect to customize with your favorite flavorings and mix-ins!
- Chocolate Chips or Mini Chocolate Chips
- Nuts: Pistachios, Walnuts, Pecans, Hazelnuts or Peanuts
- Dried Fruits: Cranberries, Cherries, Raisins, Currants
- Flavorings: Vanilla, Coffee, Citrus, Almond
- Toppings: Melted chocolate, white chocolate, crushed peppermints

Tools for Baking the Best Biscotti:
- Biscotti dough is rather stiff and is easily made with a stand mixer. It might be more of a challenge for your hand mixer.
- Half Sheet Pans are my favorites for baking cookies including biscotti.
- Silpat Baking Mats are super handy for baking biscotti or you can use parchment sheets.
- Wire Cooling Racks are a must for cooling your biscotti.
How to Make Biscotti:
- For Basic Biscotti you will mix together softened butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla extract. Next you will add in the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder and salt.
- Stir in mix-ins such as mini chocolate chips, nuts, dried fruits or citrus zest.
- Divide the dough into two and shape each half into a log.
- You may need to dust the logs lightly with flour if your dough is sticky.
- Bake for 25 minutes and allow the cookie logs to cool.
- Slice into half inch slices and return to baking sheets.
- Bake again for an additional 20 minutes.
- Cool on wire racks.
- Store in airtight containers.
