Ingredients Needed for Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza

  • Lean Ground Beef
  • Worcestershire Sauce
  • Kosher Salt
  • Fresh Ground Pepper
  • Bacon – Cooked and crumbled.
  • Pizza Dough – homemade or store bought
  • Olive Oil
  • Pizza Sauce
  • Mozzarella Cheese
  • Colby Jack Cheese
  • Onion
  • Tomatoes
  • Cornmeal

Step by Step Directions for Cheeseburger Pizza

  1. Prepare a grill fire with a pizza stone.
  2. Brown ground beef in a skillet, breaking it up as it cooks until browned and starts to crisp. Drain excess grease if needed. Add Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper, stir until combined. Cook 2 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Roll out the pizza dough to desired thickness. Line a flat baking sheet or pizza peel with parchment paper. Roll the edges over around the crust.
  4. Brush with olive oil.
  5. Spread pizza sauce over the dough in a thin layer.
  6. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
  7. Add browned ground beef, colby jack cheese, tomatoes, onions and more mozzarella.

  1. Sprinkle the pizza stone with cornmeal.
  2. Slide pizza off of the peel with parchment onto the pizza stone and cook with the grill closed.

  1. Remove parchment after about 2 minutes. Use a large spatula or metal pizza peel to turn every 5 minutes, cooking until crust is golden brown and cheeses are melted.

  1. Remove to a cutting board and rest 5 minutes before slicing.

  1. Place pizza stone on the center rack of the oven and preheat to 500°.
  2. Cook pizza on the stone, turning every 5 minutes until cheese is melted and crust is golden brown.

Ingredients

  • Pizza Dough for 3 pizzas – Homemade or Store Bought
  • 3 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 ½ cups pizza sauce
  • 1 ¼ pounds lean ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 6 slices cooked bacon
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 ½ cups shredded colby jack or cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • ½ cup sliced onion
  • 3 tablespoons cornmeal for dusting

Instructions

  • Prepare a grill fire with a pizza stone to 350° if using a Big Green Egg or 400° using a propane or kettle style grill. Add hickory chunks for smoke flavor.
  • Brown ground beef in a skillet, breaking it up as it cooks until browned and starts to crisp. Drain excess grease if needed. Add Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper, stir until combined. Cook 2 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Roll out the pizza dough, one at a time, to desired thickness. Line a flat baking sheet or pizza peel with parchment paper. Roll the edges over around the crust.
  • Brush with 1 tablespoon olive oil.
  • Spread 1/3 cup of pizza sauce over the dough in a thin layer.
  • Sprinkle with 3/4 cup mozzarella cheese.
  • Add 1/3 of browned ground beef, 1/2 cup colby jack cheese, tomatoes, onions and 1/4 cup mozzarella.
  • Sprinkle the pizza stone with 1 tablespoon cornmeal.
  • Slide pizza and parchment paper on the pizza stone and cook with the grill closed.
  • Remove parchment after about 2 minutes. Use a large spatula or metal pizza peel to turn every 5 minutes, cooking until crust is golden brown and cheeses are melted.
  • Remove to a cutting board and rest 5 minutes before slicing.
  • Repeat with remaining ingredients.
